CRICKET WORLD CUP
ROOM 1 AND ROOM 5 MAKE CRICKET SHIRTS!
Room 5 and 1 got together and worked on making Cricket Shirts for the children from Room 1. Room 5 children were responsible for getting the ideas from the Year 2, Room 1 children, drawing them on their design plan, and ensuring that the original design ended up on the finished shirt. Everyone was on task and loved the whole project. Room 1 children wrote some stories too. Here are some pictures and stories...
My buddy’s name is a country’s name, it is Paris. She was so nice. I liked the way she asked me what patterns I
wanted on my T-shirt. I felt nervous at the start but at the end I felt
awesome. Paris really helped me and gave
me heaps of ideas. She told me what
countries there were. I had to show her
how to draw swirls because she hasn’t done them in a long time. The T-shirts could actually fit us!
There were lots of patterns on my T-shirt. Our buddies had to measure us so that they
know how much they needed to cut. It
felt a bit funny. Today our buddies are
dyeing them. Tomorrow they are coming
back to our classroom to finish our T-shirts. by Lily
I am very nervous. My
buddy is coming from Room 5. When he
came into the classroom he had a bit of paper in his hand. He made a shirt and he is a good drawer. My name will be there on the back of my
t-shirt. He put a trophy on my
T-shirt. Room 5 are going to paint it
today. They are coming back on Friday to
colour it in. by Rylee
Rylee is very happy with his shirt. What a great team Hawaiki and Rylee made. |
